Abstract. Delforge, P. 2014 - The Stavros K.Õ Ophrys [Natural. belges 95 (Orchid. 27): 217-228]. An odd small-flowered scolopaxoid Ophrys generally with short horns was found in April 2008 in Attica and described in 2012 as Ophrys oestrifera subsp. stavri. At this moment, the distribution area recognized for that taxon was limited to some sites of Attica and south-eastern Peloponnese, where it was seen from 2003. In fact, this taxon was remarked since 1983 in Laconia and since 1991 in the Ionian islands of Kefallinia, Ithaki, and Zakynthos. It was published and illustrated from this regions under binomials belonging to extra-Hellenic entities, Ophrys scolopax or Ophrys (cf.) bremifera, in two guides to European orchids in 1984, 1994, and 1995, and in some articles from 1992 to 1996. The taxonomical and nomenclatural context of the Ophrys oestrifera species group in the years 1980 and 1990 is evoked. As O. oestrifera subsp. stavri possesses all the feature of a biological species and seems to have affinities both with O. cerastes and O. lacaena, the combination Ophrys stavri (Kalogeropoulos, Delipetrou & A. Alibertis) P. Delforge is made.
