Abstract. Delforge, P & Gerbaud, O.- New data on the repartition of Nigritella austriaca (Teppner & E. Klein) P. Delforge in France, in the Alps and the Jura [Natural. belges 78 (Orchid. 10) (1997): 81-102]. The problematics of Nigritella nigra s.l. is evoked. Since 1996, Nigritella nigra subsp. austriaca, Nigritella nigra subsp. gallica, and Nigritella nigra subsp. iberica are considered as synonyms. The necessity of the specific status of N. austriaca is restated. N. austriaca appeared as poorly represented in the Eastern mountains of France, with only 7 localizations published. Research in the Jura massif and in the Alpine and Prealpine range in 1997, as well as reappraisal of mentions of N. nigra flowering in June, have revealed the very probable or certain presence of N. austriaca in 10 departments (01: Ain, 04: Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, 05: Hautes-Alpes, 06: Alpes-Maritimes, 25: Doubs, 26: Drme, 38: Isre, 39: Jura, 73: Savoie, 74: Haute-Savoie). A list of the 43 localities attributable to N. austriaca is gived and commented.
